Founded in 1793, Toronto is Ontario’s capital city and the country’s financial, cultural, telecommunications, media and entertainment hub. Toronto is now the fourth largest city on the continent, with a population consisting of individuals from around the world. With diverse neighbourhoods like Chinatown, Greektown on the Danforth and Little Italy, Toronto allows tourists to experience new cultures and international cuisine within the span of a couple subway stops!
Toronto boasts a vibrant theatre and performing arts scene, not to mention the world-renowned Toronto International Film Festival, a star-studded event that brings the entertainment industry’s biggest names to the “Hollywood of the North.” In addition to our more traditionally associated landmarks including the CN Tower, Rogers Centre and Eaton Centre, Toronto is home to a number of exciting attractions including the Ripley’s Aquarium, the Harbourfront and Toronto Islands.
Our city of 6.4 million features something for everybody, from a vibrant nightlife to a plethora of shopping districts including Bloor-Yorkville and Queen Street West. The North American Model United Nations (NAMUN) is Canada's oldest conference, and has proudly been in operation since its first session in Toronto in 1985.
